Stupid, Lazy or Mean?

Examples of bad Customer Service or downright dishonesty. Some from organisations who have ignored my attempts to get them to fix things. Others from organisations that make it nigh on impossible to complain at all. And the odd tilt at Government

Vokera - have I been unlucky?

... to have my boiler engineer repeatedly fail to get through to Vokera's Technical Support number (having cost me for his time while he tried)
... to have managed to get through myself (during normal office hours) only after waiting on the line for 70 minutes?

And am I the only person:
... to resent having to dial an expensive 0844 number when I want to spend money having them come and repair my boiler?
... to be distinctly unimpressed when I am told that their £238 fixed-price repair will see me with the engineer walk away and refund only 50% of the fee if he/she decides that my boiler is "beyond economic repair" - which they define as requiring parts costing more than £450 new - when the person telling me this was unable to tell me how much a new Printed Circuit Board (for example) would cost according to their price list?

Next time, I will choose the make of boiler I have installed, rather than leave it to my plumber. And it won't be Vokera!
